Wings of the Collective is a novel by Matthew Finlay, released chapter by chapter on this website. This page explains, in plain language, what information the site handles and why. The short version: only what's needed to send you new chapters and to unlock your membership, never sold, never used for advertising.

If you join the Collective by email

We store your email address, when you joined, which page you joined from, and the country your connection came from. We use it only to email you when a new chapter is released. You can unsubscribe from any of those emails, or ask us to delete your address.

If you sign in with Patreon

When you choose "Sign in with Patreon", Patreon asks your permission to share some details with this site. We receive your Patreon name, your Patreon user ID, your email address and whether you're an active member of the Wings of the Collective Patreon, including your membership tier. We use these only to unlock what your membership includes and to show your name on your member page.

We never see or store your payment details. Billing is handled entirely by Patreon, and you manage or cancel your membership on Patreon.

Signing in places a cookie in your browser that keeps you signed in. It contains no personal details beyond an identifier and expires on its own; signing out removes it.

On your own device

To remember where you stopped reading, which chapters you've finished, and whether you've already seen a chapter's opening, the site saves small notes in your browser's local storage. These stay on your device. Members' reading progress may also be saved with their membership so it follows them between devices.

What we don't do

• No advertising and no ad trackers.
• No selling or sharing your information with anyone else.
• No third-party analytics that follow you around the web.

Where it's kept

The site and its data are hosted by Cloudflare. The page fonts load from Google Fonts. Patreon membership is handled by Patreon under its own privacy policy.

Questions or deletion requests
